Advertising Contacts

In the context of digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH), advertising contacts refer to the estimated number of persons who, within a given period, pass by a digital advertising medium and have the opportunity to perceive the displayed advertisement (“reach”), as determined on the basis of recognised reach and frequency models.

Reach is calculated using statistically sound, model-based methods employing appropriate data sources (e.g. anonymised movement data, location frequencies, visibility and market research studies) and may include multiple contacts by the same person.

The stated advertising contacts represent a forecast only; they do not constitute a warranty or guarantee that any specific actual number of contacts or viewers will be achieved.

When you select a specific number of advertising contacts, this means: your campaign will be delivered in such a way that this number of estimated visible contacts is reached within the selected period.

Unlike classic time-based or loop bookings (where you book a fixed number of ad plays), this booking model is not based on the number of plays but on the reach of each individual play – and the number of plays required to achieve the booked advertising contacts will be executed accordingly.

The number of plays required to reach the booked number of advertising contacts therefore varies. For example, a single play during "rush hour" generates significantly more advertising contacts than one during an "off-peak hour".
